It’s been so fun hanging out with you! Thanks for the pep talks! You are so positive and encouraging and I’m so glad we are roomies!  Curled underneath the cozy white comforter, night lit only by the gleam of the iPad, I flipped page by page through Baron Baptiste’s “40 Days to Personal Revolution”, my second go ’round with the life changing book. Each time I pick it up and read even just an excerpt, I find something new that strikes... 3 comments

Ashley, I absolutely LOVE this. Thank you for sharing. I’ve been feeling this a LOT lately as I’ve been pressured by peers to branch out, raise prices, offer more services, hire employees, etc. etc. etc. It’s so important to remember why we started doing this in the first place and stay true to the kind of people we want to be and the kind of lives we want to live. These words resonated with me so much… I’ll definitely be picking up the book! Thanks again!

Love love love thus. i have been Watching you grow as you have been in the past year. CL has got to pick you!!!! There are sooo many photogs who have been in your situation and have to start off all over again with a big move, including myself. In less then a year I moved from Guam to Wyoming and now back to Connecticut. I find myself so lost and your idea if the gypsy collective makes so much sense. Keep on doing what your doing girl! You are my inspiration! You speak the truth. And that’s what I love.

I love this! You’re such an inspiration. I would personally love to hear about how you got in touch with people to second shoot with them. That is something I am too nervous to approach people about. Bring on the wisdom!

Hey Robin! What a compliment! Honestly, I just saw people online who’s style I like and emailed them! About half responded back, mainly planners and florists, and I have great relationships with them now. I second shot majority of weddings with malia cano, who I met at a bridal expo when I first got here (she had a booth set up, I just went I wander). I introduces myself and we hit it off, I loved her booth style and after coffee one day we became great friends. I loveeeeee her! I second shot for other photographers who did destination weddings here and posted online that they were looking for shooters!

I completely understand the confidence thing. And self-confidence is just that, from the self. But let me point out a few things. 1) Picked to be on cL 2)Asked by Jasmine to tour with her 3) Moved thousands of miles and built a whole new clientele base 4) Put yourself out there in the universe with your videos 5) Are a brilliant photographer and educator. I hope you find your confidence to do more teaching in an official capacity. I would love to take a course taught by you. And I don’t even want to be a wedding photographer.
